The curriculum in East Peoria District 86's Early Childhood program aligns with the Illinois Early Learning Standards. TK provides a modified Kindergarten curriculum that is both structured and play-based, allowing young children to learn at their own developmental pace.
Language & Literacy: Building vocabulary, listening skills, and recognizing letters.
Mathematics: Exploring numbers, shapes, and early problem-solving.
Social Studies & Science: Engaging in hands-on activities that explore the world around them.
Social-Emotional Development: Explicit instruction in how to be a good student and classmate.
Transitional Kindergarten is housed at Shute School, but serves the entire East Peoria District 86. Transportation is provided for all students who attend!
