In third, fourth, and fifth grades, the concept of theme moves through a specific set of understandings:
1.Finding the moral, or lesson.
2.Noticing how connected details or events support a theme.
3.Considering how a character responds to a challenge.
You can choose the template that matches your students’ present understanding.
