Hello piano players!
Remember tomorrow (Wednesday, May 20) is turn-in day at the school!
ALL Piano players must turn in their large Piano ALB piano, AND paper piano, or there will be a $65 fine for the book, & $7 fine for the paper piano (I'd much rather have the books & paper pianos than a fine, not to mention the challenge of re-ordering these items - ugh).
I will be at the school from 4:00-5:30pm, just off the High School parking lot near the Auditorium/Blackbox entrance - and just outside the glass double doors.
Continue to stay updated here & in school email, as this time may change.
Remember all school distancing & mask guidelines MUST be followed.
Hope to (from a distance) see you then, & I hope you are well! :)
While it is quite interesting moving forward with having a LIVE PERFORMANCE Class online, we are making the best of it!
Following are some online platforms we are working with!
This Website!
Student school email
Zoom meetings
Sight Reading Factory - an excellent to keep working on & improving music literacy! Directors from all over use this learning tool, and it has proven to be a wonderful aid to better music reading skills!
FlipGrid - a way for students to upload practice successes, playing tests & trys, video creations, and more!
MusicTheory.net - a learning tool for just that...music theory!
Hanon piano exercises - a long-established music tool to develop playing skills & technique
Other & various music and video post sites to enhance learning: music games, videos, activities, sight-reading exercises, practicing songs, and of course music learning!
How are you??? I look forward to seeing you all Thursday - LIVE on Zoom during our 1st online "class" time (more on this in your Google Classroom communications). I hope you have been well & taking advantage of this time to accomplish and try healthy & creative things, & even ideas noted in our Google Classroom "Extended Break" ideas post!

Our new Beginning Piano Google Classroom ("GC". Link also above): https://classroom.google.com/c/NTcxNDQ0ODc5OTFa
Please...:
Please note info on the STREAM page AND the ASSIGNMENT page on GC (a couple duplications only for now as we get used to this)
Please be prepared for, and open to, new ways of trying things we are familiar with, as well as actual new things - we can do this!

Bookmarks of websites we will be using
Calendar
Goals

Other ideas/useful things you have come up with that helps keep you organized! Ask your parents and friends what tips they have for organizing!
It is worth the time it takes to come up with your organization plan. The time up front for organizing will save you LOTS of time on the "back end", and as you navigate these new waters.
This information may change or update as we take this new journey together, but we will do this...together!
