Graphing linear functions and writing out the function when given the graph.
Be able to write the linear function when given the graph.
Be able to graph linear functions.
Linear Function is a function whose graph is a straight line. A linear function has the following form f(x) = kx + m. A linear function has a dependent variable and an independent variable. The dependent variable is y and the independent variable is x. The coefficient "m" is the slope/growth/rate of change while the constant "b" is the y-intercept/starting value.
Any straight line graph can be described by the following equation: y=mx+c, where x and y are the coordinates the line passes through, m is the gradient and c is the y-intercept (the y-coordinate where the line crosses the y axis).
