Lab Projects
You will have a lab every even week starting week 2 and ending week 10. For a total of 5 lab assignments.
Lab work is done by individuals. Due to the remote delivery of the labs, and the possibility of having students who reside at different time zones, lab attendance is not required; however, it is highly recommended. In the past quarters, students found the labs very difficult to do without the help of the lab TAs. You are allowed to attendany scheduled lab session that works best for you. You can attend theparticular session’s Zoom meeting at any time during the scheduled time block, and ask lab-related questions. Our TA team is happy to help you.
Deadline:
About the deadline, sorry if the original syllabus was not that clear. We have a soft deadline for prelabs and labs, and they are due on the Saturday of the odd weeks (by odd I mean week 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9). However, we will not collect your prelab and lab results so you will not need to submit those. But we do have a strongly enforced deadline for lab reports and they are due on the Saturday of the even weeks. The reason prelabs and labs are soft due is beacuse you will formulate a lab report to demonstrate your results of them and write something else oin lab report anyway so we will not double check and grade your work, if you are unsure about your results please check with TAs during lab hours. And the syntax of the lab report is on the lab website. Please refer to the section "lab write-up tips". Some students do not know we have a lab website and the url is located at the Home page of ECE 25 Canvas page.
Lab Reports and Preparation
Students should be thoroughly familiar with the lab and understand its purpose. Reading through the lab will greatly help you finish your work on time and minimize errors and troubleshooting. You will know exactly what equipment and components you will need for the lab, so you can get them quickly and begin lab work.
You are welcome to and are encouraged to collaborate with each other, but every student must submit their own lab report. We do intend to enforce the Academic Integrity Policy.
You must include your names, PID numbers, and Lab day and Time (e.g. Tuesday 3:30-6:30p) in your lab report.
Have sign and date the lab report after the conclusion.
Remember to save all your work at somewhere you can easily find, since you need previous codes for later Labs.
Policy on Cheating
The policy is the same as the lecture. Any student found guilty of cheating on a lab will be given a zero on the Lab and will be reported to his or her college dean. A typical example of cheating is copying laboratory results from another group into your lab report.
