Progress Report Week 8
We are going to make the sample this week. We had a preliminary manufacturing plan last weekend. Starting from tomorrow, we will devote ourselves to the sample manufacturing. Today, one of our team members went to school and started 3D printing the moving rod. Tomorrow we will start to edit the code of CNC machine tools. At the same time, we will also begin to prepare the materials and dimensions for manufacture. Below is our final design:
Overview of the Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
The team fabricated the prototype of the 9 hollow needle pin with the storage tank.
Accomplishments from Previous Weeks
3D printed the attachment rods
CNC machined the storage tank, the mold for the needles plate.
Discussed with sponsors on finally the designing parameters/requirements
Result of the force testing: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PAaeHrKXAhYLiRmO2i6NJRCRf595pJIREfSl0BGpKg4/edit?usp=sharing
Goals for Next (or this week 7) Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Manufacturing the storage tank and the exterior cover layer (at machine shop CNC)
Dimension of the silicone insulation layer.
Modified the final design
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Arranged weekly meeting to update and assist with the project.
Finalized all the dimensions for the designing components.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Primary focus was to explore top priorities; talk to the sponsor about it.
Changed to the storage tank designing parameters
Approval of the rod attachment mechanism.
Risks and Areas of Concern
The structure or materials of the needles may deform/break during injection.
The needles arrangement across the device.
Leakage of agent from the device
Interference between hollow needles motion and agent motion
Attachment/assembly of the microneedling cartridge.
