Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Followed up with manufacturing companies (Tray, Air Bladders, Carbon Fiber "L" brackets, Urethane Mattress Cover) to ensure that they are on track to meet our agreed upon delivery dates.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Looking into the world of pressure fittings
found out sponsor does not have compressed air access in suite
Completed 75%+ of report
Organized meeting dates with sponsor as he will be on travel for the next several weeks
Found options for glue and ordered from same carbon fiber company to reduce shipping costs
Reduced cost from 34$ a tube to 16.80$ a tube (PAYS TO SHOP AROUND)
Specs of glue are as good as the 3M glue sourced before
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Purchase all pressurization system items from local hardware stores (Johnathan)
Continue communication with manufacturers (Daniel)
Continue and refine report (Kevin)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
No sponsor meeting since nothing new to report
Asked Sponsor AGAIN what brand of head donut and knee positioner he would like, he will talk to the technicians, and get back to us.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Improve wording on abstract, make it easier for anyone reading the report to understand what the project is about (5/9/19 via email)
Combined sentences, and reduced wordiness. Cut stuff out. (Daniel)
Add more content to report and remove table of tray evolution
Moved the table to Appendix (johnathan) and added more content primarily to Chapter 3 (all)
Risks and Areas of Concern
Will selected glue work and actually securely attach carbon fiber??
Need a polyurethane safe glue for the plumbing seals
Pump?
We will have a Schraeder valve fitting to test it at first with a bike pump and then plan to upgrade to an automatic pump
Fitment of foam and air bladder mattress into tray, its going to be a squeeze. Maybe trim the foam a little shy of spec to get it in easier.
Need a rubber gasket around the handle lip so tech's hands don't while moving the tray
Schedule
updated gantt chart (kevin)
