Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
We have began fabrication of our final design
One of the Dr. Joiner's student is using the very first prototype( for one monitor) for testing flies reaction to slider crank motion to narrow down the the range of acceleration and frequency.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Our design has changed from 2 stories to one story
we have begun to explore the programming of the arduino through a matlab interface
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Finish fabricating our robot(ALL)
continue programming with arduino and matlab (ROQUE)
run testings with our motor and encoder

to look at different types of rails available for purchase
Risks and Areas of Concern
Sponsor mentioned that having different number of monitors(different mass) on the mechanism would provide different acceleration from a the same duty cycle of motor. This is concerning because the consistency is at question. Need to find a way for control algorithm to do this or have a motor be powerful enough.
