Week 11
Power Quality Analysis & Testing the Inverter (Parallel Work)
Power Quality Analysis & Testing the Inverter (Parallel Work)
THD value of current and voltage were observed for power quality analysis. This was done in 2 steps.
Observed the current and voltages with the negative half noise.
Observed the waveforms after the noise filtering techniques used in noise analysis in previous week.
Figure: Testing setup with the THD Analyzer
YOKOGAWA power quality analyzer is a reliable device to measure harmonics and quantify them.

Power quality analyzer displays the RMS Voltages and Currents , THD Value etc. (Input DC voltage =200 V and modulation index is 0.8)
THD values should be less than 5% , for a good inverter.
Harmonics are still present in the system.
Our next task is to minimize the THD value under 5% with good filtering characteristics.
