Career Exploration
The El Monte Union High School District provides students access to Choices 360, an online career exploration platform. Results from self-assessments can help students identify matching careers. Additionally, Choices 360 provides tools for college planning, information on financial aid and scholarships, and workforce development. EMUHSD students can access Choices 360 accounts using the app located in their EMUHSD Gmail suite or directly though the website, Choices360.com using their district credentials.

Career Exploration is a process of self-reflection, self-evaluation, and self-discovery. Online self-assessment tools can be a powerful tool for identifying student skills, values, and interests. This knowledge can help students plan for a satisfying career, however, this is only one piece of the career exploration puzzle. This process also requires that students actively participate in learning about themselves by seeking real world activities in and out of their school community. Furthermore, conversations with the people who know them best are insightful when planning for a career.
College Research
It is important to begin college research early. Consider the following criteria in your research; majors, campus location, campus and size.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Extracurricular activities include anything you do outside of school as long as you have committed time and effort toward what you do. Competitive colleges and universities generally like to see applicants with demonstrated leadership potential. Make sure you balance your schoolwork with your extracurricular activities during the school year and plan ahead for summer activities. But NEVER sacrifice your grades for extracurricular activities!
