LONG RANGE GOALS
3.1
Foster meaningful connections for every student by ensuring they are known, valued, and supported by at least one trusted adult advocate who promotes a sense of belonging at school.

Enhance student connectedness and safety through predictable and inclusive norms, structures and routines across learning environments.

Engage every student in grade-level reflections and portfolio development that highlight how they are embodying EMCSD learner dispositions.

Cultivate and monitor responsible digital citizenship by integrating instruction on online safety, ethical technology use, and digital literacy across all grade levels.

METRICS
Establish a district-wide system to ensure that every student is meaningfully connected to at least one trusted adult, and monitor its implementation across all schools and student groups.
Measure social-emotional and behavioral (SEB) wellness using a universal screener.
Monitor restorative practice referral and resolution data disaggregated by student groups to assess the impact of social-emotional and behavioral supports.
Develop and implement a system for EMCSD learner disposition self-reflection and portfolios.
Evaluate student participation and proficiency in a digital literacy and citizenship curriculum aligned to district expectations.
STRATEGIES
Develop a student mentorship program to build consistent, supportive relationships with trusted adults.
Develop and reinforce common schoolwide norms and classroom routines that foster a safe and welcoming environment.
Develop a districtwide toolkit to provide schools with strategies and resources for building relationships and fostering a positive classroom culture.
Analyze SEB screener data—disaggregated by student groups—regularly to inform schoolwide practices, guide Tier 1 practices, and Tier 2 supports, and monitor student well-being over time.
Connect EMCSD learner dispositions to teaching, learning and student experiences districtwide.
Integrate student voice and lived experiences into school improvement and climate planning.
Teach digital citizenship explicitly through a defined progression of skills at every grade level.
Host ongoing, multilingual family learning sessions focused on social-emotional development, healthy technology use, and overall well-being.
