Public service is an important virtue for all students to have an opportunity to embrace. We strongly believe that human rights and volunteer work is a role for every person. In Student Assembly, there isn’t any structure currently dedicated to efforts in the vein of public service, human rights, and charity. Student Assembly is not allowed to donate our funds to charity, per our constitution, unlike many other student governments nationwide that do charitable giving.
Previous and Current Work:
Earthquake Aid to Turkey and Syria
Policy Moving Forward:
Creation of a Student Assembly Cabinet committee of public service which would be dedicated to humanitarian work
i.e. blood drives, natural disaster aid etc.
Amend the rule on SA spending to allow donations to charitable foundations
