I live in a forest, and much of my creative inspiration comes from a feeling of peace and connection among the trees and in my garden. Nature is unpredictable, unordered, messy and beautiful, and my creative approach applies these same cues of spontaneity and uncertainty to the painting process: my goal is to have no goal! but instead to play with color, to experiment, explore and allow the joy of painting to unfold on its own, organically, without trying to control the outcome. I delight in the surprise that emerges on paper, just as I delight in unexpected vignettes of beauty when walking through the woods or appreciating the flowers in my garden.
