Five years ago, I took a workshop to learn about Japanese mokuhanga (wood prints). The printing medium was a combination of watercolor paint and rice paste and the subject was my cat, Miss Kitty. Now, being part of a watercolor class, I want to explore alternate ways to use watercolor pigment by using different paints, color pencils, crayons and gouache to illustrate my calico cat.
