My artwork represents a storied reflection of the circle of life, its preciousness, and vaporous earthly existence. Family, my heart’s greatest treasures, are portrayed through photographic images that have been reimagined in multimedia fashion; subtle, desaturated, monochromatic inkjet prints on watercolor paper are translated into poetic, translucent-colored memories of brushed moments in time.
This body of work depicts two separate collections – Down on The Noblin Farm and My First Year, respectively. My grandson, Nathaniel, is my favorite subject -- always at the center of my lens. During the farm shoot, I had the unexpected pleasure of having my daddy and brother join us for some impromptu candids which resulted in two of the most endearing and priceless images that I have ever taken of my family. Mimi’s own Kris Kringle and strike-a-pose bunny are part of a series depicting ‘Thaniel Wyatt’s first year of gracing our presence with love and laughter.
The circle of life seemingly emerges and vanishes in an instant -- our lives, our stories, best narrated through the stillness of captured images.
