Paulo Coelho
On August 24, 1947 a brilliant lyricist and novelist was born. This lyricist and novelist was named Paulo Coelho. Coelho was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Coelho’s parents had a handful when it came to raising Paulo. Coelho was sent to an asylum at the age of 17 and continued to escape three times until he was officially released at the age of 20. After traveling the world as a young man, Coelho finally found his passion in writing (Wikipedia). Coelho’s first well known book was “The Pilgrimage” followed by his second famous book “The Alchemist”.
Paulo Coelho once said, “The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.” This quote was said to inspire people to always follow what they believe in. What you believe in is what can help change the world. The way that I see this is, if you want to see change in the world for what you believe in, go in to the world and achieve this. Be the change, do not expect change to happen on its own.
I see this quote reflected in my life daily. One of the biggest part of my life are my friends. I would do anything for them along with lead them as far as I can. I will not go in to great detail about my religion, but I believe that God is a great part of my life. I have always that with God in my life I can achieve many great things. One friend in particular never understood this until I brought her along with me to my church group. I lead my friend in to something that I believed greatly in, and from that day on I have seen her strive to be a better person. I lead her with my example and changed her opinion in to a new belief of her own.
