You shall not cut polycarb, PVC, ABS, HDPE (milk bottles), polystyrene foam, polypropylene foam, fiberglass, coated carbon fibers, cake or living materials.
Flip red illuminated Switch on Electrical Power Distributor to ON
Check that Chiller is displaying temperature. NEVER TURN ON THE LASER WITHOUT FUNCTIONING CHILLER
Check the Compressor is viberating
Check that exhaust fan is running
Sign into GRIT Trigger by scanning your CatCard (you can not sign in if you are not signed into the laboratory)
Make sure Emergency Stop is disengaged
Turn the key
Do not interrupt the laser until homing sequence is finished
Place your raw material on the bed
With the Arrows on the Keypad, move the laser head to the center of the piece you intend to cut
On the Keypad menu find autofocus and execute the sequence
On the Keypad find Z adjustment position, move the Z location to 6-7mm by pressing right and left arrows
Move the laser head to the top left corner of your piece with the Keypad arrows. You might need to use "ESC" to go back to top level menu
Import your DXF file into Laser Work program
Zoom out to verify that the size matches your expectations. If it was saved in inches it will need to be scaled to 2540% in both directions. Click the lock symbol so you only need to type the number once.
Select the whole drawing with the mouse (click and drag rectangle around it) and move it (click a drag on center symbol) to the desired location, e.g. top left of the page.
Import additional parts. Place the parts next to each other so that you do not waste material.
Set the laser parameters for the outlines you imported
All outlines using the same settings should have the same color.
Double click on the color list, the parameter library will open, select the material you are working with. LOAD will load the material and OK will apply it to the currently selected color.
You can engrave or torch symbols onto your work piece
Cutting and outline at lower power and fast speed is most effective
Scanning will scan the laser inside the outline and darken the area. This can take a long time,
Select all the parts you want to cut in the layout and click DOWNLOAD, give the job a name and wait until download is confirmed
The filename will appear in the job list. Select it.
Move the laser to the top left location of your part.
Declare this position as your home. Press ORIGIN then ENTER.
Press frame on keypad. The laser will outline the size of your part. Make sure your parts fit.
Press START
Make sure the parts were cut all the way through by pushing the sheet to the bed and checking the cut parts are loose.
If the parts are not loose, execute the job again.
Remove the parts.
Turn the key to off
Turn the red switch in the power strip off. NEVER TURN OFF THE CHILLER WHEN THE LASER IS STILL ON
Vacuum the loose parts of the honeycomb sheet
Empty the tray where the small scrap parts are collected
Parts sucked into the blower need to be vacuumed out
The filter in the metal exhaust pipe needs to be removed and cleaned
The laser mirrors need to be inspected and if dirty removed and cleaned by optical engineer
The mirror and lens in the laser head need to be removed and cleaned by an optical engineer
