Students will download example enclosure for their microcontroller, modify it and manufacture as well as assemble it using the laser cutter.
Learning outcome: Converting a CAD model into manufacturing instructions.
Enclosure used for the links below: ttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1615662
Please change it so that it fits the motor hat and a sensor hat. The height requirements for the Raspberrry Pi and two hats is approximately 2 inches.
The provided Solidworks assembly file is searching for files in a non existing user directory. You have the opportunity to replace the location of those files during the loading process. The Solidworks assembly also attempts including the 3D model of the raspberry Pi. This model can be found here:
http://my.solidworks.com/reader/3dccparts/catalogid%253D171%2526id%253D701923/raspberry-pi-3-model-b
If you can not find the files for the raspberry, you can ignore the missing files and include only the ones that are included in the model.
You will need to manufacture the case for the Raspberry Pi and show it to the instructors. You are free to create an alternative case as long as it is large enough the accept the Raspberry Pi as well as two hats. Please show you case to the instructors.
