I am an associate professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and the director of the Bilingual Certificate Program in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. I came to the U of A in 2010 and have collaborated on research with the Sunnyside Unified School District for most of my time here in Tucson. I have worked with bilingual children and families all across the U.S. and in Mexico. The focus of my research program is to reduce health and educational disparities for Latino bilingual children and increase cultural competence in the profession.
Hello! My name is Jacque Penunuri and I am a senior majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. I am from Tucson, AZ and this is my second year in the lab. I love having the opportunity to contribute to a project that will benefit bilingual children while working with the other fantastic lab members. A fun fact about me is that I have studied five foreign languages.
