Infant Development Lab

Have you ever wondered how babies go from simply holding and mouthing objects, to spinning, twisting, or rolling them about? Have you watched a baby gleefully and tirelessly explore a room or playground? Have you thought about how the acquisition of new motor skills in infancy can lead babies to interact with their environments in drastically different ways? If so, then you have come to the right place!

We are the Infant Development Lab, a research laboratory based in the Department of Psychology at Elon University. We are interested in understanding the development of infant motor skills. Babies are observed while touching and manipulating toys, crawling or walking about a play space, and sometimes interacting with their caregivers.

Please join us in making new discoveries! We would love to hear from parents who are interested in participating in our research with their babies.
