How To Care For Your Device

Cleaning Instructions for D205 Technology (Chromebooks & iPads)

  1. Turn the device off and unplug any power cords.

  2. Moisten a microfiber cloth (or any cleaning cloth that is linen free). On iPads, avoid using a packaged 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe like Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. Avoid using bleach or spray cleaners.


*IMPORTANT* - Securely any and all cleaning supplies in an area not accessible to children after use. The cloth/wipe should be damp, but not dripping wet. Remove excess moisture.


  1. Gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces like displays, keyboards, etc., and ensure moisture does not get into any openings to avoid damage.

  2. Surfaces must be completely air-dried before turning the device on after cleaning. No moisture should be visible on the surfaces of the product before it is powered on or plugged into power.

  3. If a screen is smeared after disinfecting, it may be cleaned again with a microfiber cloth dampened (not dripping) with water.

Chromebook Maintenance During Extended Breaks

  1. Restart your device to apply any system updates.

  2. Charge your device to at least 80%.

  3. Turn off your device by following one of the below steps:

  • At the bottom right, select the time. Select Power .

  • At the bottom right, select the time. Select Sign out Shut down.

  • Press and hold the Power key for 3 seconds.

  • Press and hold the Power button until you see a menu to Power off or Sign out

  1. Unplug your device and store it in a cool, dry place.

iPad Maintenance During Extended Breaks

  1. Charge your device to at least 50%.

  2. Turn off your device.

  • Hold the Sleep/Wake button (top right) and move the slider.
