What is Night of Philosophy?
Night of Philosophy is a monthly event open to all high-schoolers in the Elmhurst area that's hosted by the York Philosophy Club Board. It takes place on the first Friday of every month from 7-8 PM in the Elmhurst Public Library's 2nd Floor Gathering Room. Through research and debates, students will be able to learn more about various philosophical topics on their own and from others. Snacks will be provided!
What will we do?
At every gathering, we discuss one Ethics Bowl case. Half of the event will be a structured debate between 4 debaters, and the remaining half will be for open-ended discussion. Notes (whether they be digital or physical) are permitted.
What do I do if I want to attend?
Next to the "Home" page is a page titled with the date of our upcoming gathering. It has all of the information required for it (the case we'll be talking about, research links, questions to consider, updates). If you're interested in debating, please email 69149@elmhurst205.org. Otherwise, just show up! Make sure to keep an eye on this website because we will be adjusting it for future meetings as we go.
