Project Sophos is the scholarship initiative born out of the generosity and forward-thinking spirit of Project Philos—the contribution division of the CFC.

Rooted in the Greek word “Sophos” (meaning “wise”), Project Sophos empowers high-achieving, purpose-driven students with scholarships and fellowships  to elevate their higher education pursuits in finance, economics, business, and related fields.

To honor commitment, character, and curiosity by awarding merit-based scholarships funded through private donations to Project Philos. Project Sophos recipients embody the CFC values of leadership, financial and academic excellence.

💼 Who We Support

Project Sophos scholarships are awarded annually to:

• Graduating seniors of York Community High School who are active members of the CFC.

• Students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, financial acumen, and ethical leadership

• Individuals who have made a meaningful impact through community service, entrepreneurship, or financial innovation.

Project Philos (“Philos,” Greek for love) serves as CFC’s giving initiative—bringing together alumni, parents, local businesses, and private contributors who believe in education as a force for good. All donations to Project Philos directly support the creation and expansion of Project Sophos scholarships.
