Always make sure to plug the Chromebook in first- just to check that it isn’t dead
There should be a light on the side where you plug the device in; it should be either green or orange if it is plugged in
If it is orange, it’s very possible your Chromebook has minimal or no charge. (Green means that it is fully charged)
If the indicator light DOES NOT turn on or blink, this could be a battery issue and would warrant a ticket.
Depending on the Chromebook model and brand, the light could be on either side of the device.
* On newer Chromebooks using USB type C chargers, they look like a slim rectangle, try and make sure you are charging the device on the side where there is a small battery or charge icon engraved next to the port
If a Chromebook still isn’t turning on, provided the indicator light is working, the following trick can be super helpful
Hold down the Power and Refresh keys down at the same time (boxed in red to the left) for about 7 seconds
Then press the power key after releasing both keys
If the device does not turn on, leave the device charging for 10 minutes and try this method again. If it still does not turn on after two attempts, fill out a ticket on the district website
