Join One on One Basketball for AFTER SCHOOL HOOPS® at Ellis Elementary School. Throughout the spring, skilled and experienced basketball coaches will conduct a one-hour clinic each week for you and your friends. Learn, work hard, get better with ONE ON ONE! Skateboarding (Mon) by GoGo Skateboarding

• Grades: K-5

• Description: Get ready to roll with GoGo Skateboarding! Tailored for all skill levels, this on-campus program introduces students to the fundamentals of skateboarding in a safe, supportive, and inclusive-to-all manner. We provide skateboards and safety gear for each class, and have exciting obstacles to keep the fun rolling!

MultiSports (Tues) by Valley Sports Camp

• Grades: TK-5

• Description: This is an active, high-energy After School Program focusing on sportsmanship, teamwork, building friendships, learning new games, and fun!  Kids will be grouped by age and will play 2-3 developmentally appropriate games each week.  Our games are designed for any level of athleticism, which is why kids love our games so much!  Organized activities will focus on building skills and team concepts.  Every week campers will learn about a new character building trait, and have an opportunity to put it into practice during a camp session.

Soccer AYSO Play! Plus (Thurs or Fri) 

• Grades: K-3 on Fridays; 4th & 5th on Thursdays

• Description: AYSO PLAY! PLUS offers additional soccer training year round! PLAY! PLUS follows an outcome-based curriculum, placing a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning and fundamental motor skills alongside developing soccer techniques. AYSO PLAY! ensures a comprehensive journey that’s age appropriate for your child’s learning.

Coding and Game Design (Tues) by Lando

• Grades: 1st to 3rd

• Description: Our classes are designed to engage beginning to intermediate coders. Instead of your typical coding puzzles, students learn by creating a variety of mini-games. They’ll master key concepts — such as sequencing, variables, conditionals, and events — all while enjoying the process of building games for themselves and their friends. We provide laptops loaded with our custom, distraction-free version of Scratch and send regular updates to keep parents informed about each student’s progress.

RoboPets (Mon) by Snapology 

• Grades: TK and K

• Description: In this course, your builder will begin their exploration into the world of robotics by building simple, animal-inspired machines that are controlled by icon-based program codes.  We will teach your little learner some fundamental engineering and programming concepts as they build goofy animals and design perfect habitats to protect their new robotic friends.  Maybe you can’t have an alligator as a pet at home, but you can definitely build one in our classroom at Snapology!

AttackBots Robotics (Tues) by Snapology - Cancelled Due to Low Enrollment

• Grades: 1st to 3rd

• Description: In this exciting program, students will build a variety of military-inspired robots that will respond to their programmed commands.  While working with a partner to solve the various challenges, your student will be challenged to understand how to effectively utilize a sensor, how different mechanical components can alter the power and speed of their machine, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice.  We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with games and challenges using the robots they build with their partner.  They’re going to have a BLAST!

Hands on Science (Tues) by Science Made Fun SFBA/High Touch High Tech

• Description: High Touch High Tech enrichments provide students with a unique, interactive experience that brings science concepts to life. Each session, students exercise scientific  process skills such as observing, investigating, questioning, explaining and problem solving.

Baile Folklorico (Mon) with Coach A 

• Grades: 3rd to 5th

• Description: Mexican Folklorico is a form of Mexican Traditional dances from different regions of the country. They are inspired by folklore and have influences of ballet. Different countries have influenced Mexico’s culture along with Folklorico. Students will learn about preserving Mexican culture through Mexican Folkloric dance, music, and traditions. It will educate the Community about Mexican History while students express themselves through dance.

Sculpting with Modeling Clay (Wed) by Lando

• Grades: 1st to 3rd

• Description: Unlock artistic passion with our unique sculpting technique class, developed by experts from the Rhode Island School of Design. Students explore fundamental concepts such as color theory and structural supports while learning to simplify complex forms. Each session introduces new and exciting projects from our extensive library of builds, ensuring fresh challenges and creative fun for all skill levels. In addition, students can take home their unique sculptures to showcase their growing skills.

Drawing (Wed) by Young Rembrandts 

• Grades: 1st to 4th

• Description: Transform afterschool into an adventure of art and discovery with Young Rembrandts! Your elementary-aged artist will explore basic composition with the Fish Below Ice project and they will travel to the Great Wall of China right from their desk. Sports fans will cheer for our Hockey  Player drawing, while budding historians can learn about the master strokes of Leonardo Da Vinci and Franz Marc’s Blue Horse. It's a season filled with creativity and learning—perfect for enhancing your child's drawing and  coloring expertise. Enroll your young creator today!

• We are actively looking for cleared parent volunteers who can help TK/K students transition from their classrooms to their after school programs. Please contact Claudia at claudia.estrada@sesd.org if you're able to help.

• All Grade 1-5 students will need to transition by themselves to their after school programs upon dismissal (Mon-Thurs 2:30 p.m., Fri grades 1-3 12:45 p.m., grades 4-5 2:30 p.m.). All After School Program instructors will be present to facilitate check-in with the students. Please make sure you communicate with your students in a timely manner about their classes.

• If your student goes to CYW/KLAS, please inform CYW/KLAS what days your student will attend an after school program. Please make sure that the after school program knows that your student needs to be dropped off at their aftercare upon completion of the class.

• With the exception of Friday basketball, parents are to pick up their children directly from their after school program.  For Friday basketball, the instructor will walk students to the gate near the front office upon dismissal and will be released to their guardian or caretaker.

• Please don’t sign up if your students cannot be picked up on time. The coaches/instructors need to leave promptly after they finish the classes. 

• If a student was absent at school due to health concerns, then he/she is not able to attend the after school program.

• Classes will happen rain or shine.

• All scholarships for the Spring session have been already awarded, and the families have been notified.

• Buscamos activamente padres voluntarios que hayan sido aprobados como voluntarios, que puedan ayudar a los estudiantes de TK/K con la transición de sus salones a sus programas extraescolares. Si puede ayudar, comuníquese con Claudia enviando un email a claudia.estrada@sesd.org.

• Todos los estudiantes de 1º a 5º grado deberán ir por su cuenta a sus programas extraescolares al finalizar el horario escolar (lunes a jueves, 2:30PM; viernes, 1º a 3er grado, 12:45pm; 4º y 5º grado, 2:30PM). Todos los instructores del programa extraescolar estarán presentes para facilitar el registro con los estudiantes. Asegúrese de recordar a sus estudiantes qué días deben asistir a los programas extraescolares.

• Si su estudiante asiste a CYW/KLAS, informe a los coordinadores de estos programas qué días asistirá a un programa extraescolar. Asegúrese de que el programa extraescolar sepa que su estudiante debe atender CYW/KLAS al finalizar la clase. Con excepción del baloncesto de los viernes, los padres deben recoger a sus hijos directamente del programa extraescolar. Por favor, accedan por la entrada de Olive St. y no por la oficina principal.

• Para el baloncesto de los viernes, el instructor acompañará a los estudiantes hasta la puerta cerca de la oficina principal a la salida y los entregará a su tutor o cuidador.

• Por favor, no se inscriban si no pueden ir a buscar a sus estudiantes a tiempo. Los entrenadores/instructores deben marcharse puntualmente después de terminar las clases.

• Si un estudiante faltó a la escuela por motivos de salud, no podrá asistir al programa extraescolar.

• Las clases se impartirán aunque llueva.

• Todas las becas para la sesión de primavera ya se han otorgado y se ha notificado a las familias.
