The forest floor is the layer that is at the bottom of the Rainforest and has alot of leaves that cover the floor. It dose not get alot of sunlight and lots of baby plants are growing on the forest floor.
The understory is the layer above the forest floor which does not get much sunlight but a little bit more than the forest floor. This is because the canopy layer blocks out most of the sunlight for the forest floor and the canopy layer. Growing plants are found in this layer.
The canopy layer is the second tallest layer in the Rainforest and most of the trees in this layer are fully grown now. This layer gets a lot of sunlight which is the reason some of the trees are really tall and big! The canopy layer gives protection from winds and storms. The canopy layer catches the most rain water too!
The emergent layer is the tallest layer in the rainforest and the trees in the emergent layer are really tall, taller than the canopy layer. The trees in the emergent layer have to be used to the heat because it is really hot at the top of the rainforest. The emergent layer has small birds and animals living in its trees.
