Tech Ed

Class overview

Tech Ed is about using the Engineering Design Process to create and make things to meet criteria and solve problems. All of our Tech Ed courses are modeled after the Modern Classroom approach to instruction in which blended instruction is paired with self-pacing structures leading to mastery of material. Design & Modeling (PLTW) is our Tech Ed offering for 6th graders in which they learn the basic principles of design through measurement, sketching and following the design process. Tech Ed Level One & Two are offered to our 7th and 8th graders. These classes build on skills practiced in Design & Modeling and follow the design process to solve problems across various areas of Tech Ed that are offered at Elkhorn Area High School (Wood-Working Fabrication, Digital Fabrication, Automotive, Machining, Construction, & Architecture).

About me

My teaching career began officially in 2001 in Cambridge, WI. Since then, I have enjoyed teaching 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 4th Grade, 6th Grade Science, 8th Grade Science and 6-8th grade Tech Ed! I embrace change and am always looking for the next challenge. Ultimately, this is what drew me to my current position of Tech Ed teacher. I enjoy the constant changes in teaching a class like this and keeping myself up to speed with those changes.
