DAY 1

  • Enroll in Google Classroom

  • Introduce Google Classroom

    • • Go over Google Classroom Areas (Stream, Classwork, People, Grades, To-Do)

      • Explain that "returned" on Google Classroom means I put the grade in Skyward.

  • Pass out Class Syllabus

    • • Need to have parents fill out the Syllabus agreement form that is on Google Classroom.

      • Positive Attitude. Participation.

  • Mr. Paxton Pop Quiz

    • • Discussion of results and answers

  • Emphasize the Accountability rule.

  • Go over and explain mrpaxton.com website.

DAY 2 - 3

• • Topic of the Day Discussion

  • Reminder to Enroll into Google Classroom

  • Get seating charts corrected.

  • Remind about Class Syllabus agreement. Due Monday.

  • Go over Class Syllabus and NEW Class Intro Prezi

    • • Class Introduction Prezi

  • Student Introduction Survey

  • Talk about Fire, Tornado, Lockdown procedures.

Week 2

DAY 4

• • Topic of the Day Discussion

  • Remind to have parents fill out the Syllabus agreement form that is on Google Classroom.  DUE TODAY!  Will mark as zero tomorrow.

  • Discuss Positive and Negative impacts of Technology.

  • Start taking notes over the PowerPoint Tips PowerPoint.

  • Introduce Google Slides Expert Presentation Assignment

  • Demonstrate cooltext.com

DAY 5 - 6

• • Start taking notes over the PowerPoint Tips PowerPoint.

    • • Presentation Tips PowerPoint

  • Introduce Google Slides Expert Presentation Assignment

  • Demonstrate cooltext.com

    • • Focus on Presentation, not content
      • Find a topic that you are an expert on already.
      • Put your topic in the google document by your name.
      • Research Topic
      • Create a presentation on Google Slides using the Presentation Tips that we discussed in class.
      • Need a picture or video on most slides.
      • DO NOT USE A PICTURE AS THE BACKGROUND ON ANY SLIDE OTHER THAN THE TITLE SLIDE!
      • if you use a video in your presentation, it must be shortened to 1 minute or less.  Ask Mr. Paxton how.

• • Should be a total of at least 10 slides. 

DAY 7 - 8

• • Continue Expert Google Slides Presentation

    • • See last class instructions.

  • If done, then practice your presentation and get suggestions from Mr. Paxton on how to make it better.
