• • Take attendance (correct nicknames/names)

  • Make sure everyone is enrolled in Google Classroom

  • Introduce Google Classroom features for class.

    • • Go over Google Classroom Areas (Stream, Classwork, People, Grades, To-Do)

      • Explain that "returned" on Google Classroom means I put the grade in Skyward.

  • Pass out Class Syllabus

    • • Need to have parents fill out the Syllabus agreement form that is on Google Classroom.

      • Positive Attitude. Participation.

    • • Discussion of results and answers

DAY 93 - 94

• • Talk about Fire, Tornado, Lockdown procedures.

  • AI Discussion Question if time.

  • Connecting to Our World: Where have you already seen or used AI in your daily life (on your phone, in video games, on social media)? Based on your own experience, what’s your gut reaction to it—is it mostly helpful, a little bit creepy, or something else entirely? 

  • Investigating Trends in Computer Science Lesson

    • Beginning of class prompt:

      • • “What’s a technology you use every day that didn’t exist when your parents were your age?”

        • Students journal briefly, then share out. As a class, generate a quick list of technologies/trends. Write responses on the board. 

    • Investigating Trend in Computer Science Google Slides

    • Group Activity – Investigate & Present (45 minutes)

      • • Step 1 – Group Formation (5 min)  Divide students into 5 groups (1 per trend).

        • Step 2 – Research (25 min) Each group investigates their assigned topic and answers:

          • • What is the trend/technology?

            • How is it being used today?

            • Who benefits from it?

            • What concerns or ethical questions are raised?

            • How might it impact your generation’s future?

            • Provide links, videos, or brief articles as a starting point if needed.

        • Step 3 – Create a Short Presentation (15 min)
          Groups prepare a 3-minute mini-presentation (visual optional) to summarize their findings. Encourage visuals, simple explanations, and real-life examples.

    • EXIT PROMPT:  “Which trend do you think will have the biggest impact on your life? Why?”

    • Have students respond in writing or share out. Optionally, collect responses for assessment.
