Math:

• Students will take the chapter 1 math test next week.
  • Monday: we will complete lesson 1.8
  • Tuesday: review
  • Wednesday: review
  • Thursday/Friday: test
• At Home:
  • your student can review the following before testing:
    • large math book notes
    • composition notebook notes
    • interactive lessons on Think Central
    • Math on the Spot videos

ELA:

• Spelling test: August 9th

Science/Social Studies:

• Regions of California
• Where/how can Volcanoes form?
• Topography

Buddies

We’re so excited! Tomorrow we head over to Mrs. Kim’s Kinder class to meet our buddies!

While we’re off track :

Math:

1. Think Central- Students can preview math chapter 2 by going through math on the spot videos or the animated math models
2. Xtramath- a perfect time to really focus on those math facts!

Language Arts/Reading

1. Lexia- students are being tested to determine their current level. While we’re off, your student can continue working through the program

Reading Counts

As a school, we are still waiting to gain access to our Reading Counts program, so students can take their tests. Please know that this is not just our classroom, it’s school wide. Generally, students are able to come in and take tests while they are off track. If I receive an email while we’re off that they system is up and running, I’ll send an announcement out on Synergy. In the meantime, please have your student continue reading- they can write down the titles of their books and keep notes if they’re worried that they’ll forget what they’ve read. Thank you for your patience!
