Reclassified Fluent English Proficient: This means that the student can communicate fluently in both their first language, and in English. It means that the student has mastered English at a proficiency level to be exited out of the EL program. Students who are RFEP are monitored for four years after leaving the EL program and still have many resources.

Student needs to meet one of the following:
CAASPP:
Standard nearly met (2) or higher
EGUSD Interim ELA Assessments
Qualifying score dependent on trimester and grade level
TEACHER EVALUATION: Curriculum Mastery (last report card)
Student receives satisfactory (“PASS”, C- or better in ELA grades 1st -12th or S for K)
PARENT/GUARDIAN OPINION AND CONSULTATION:
Provide parent with information about the process and student results, ensuring meaningful participation in their child’s reclassification process
