RIDE recently partnered with Pure Edge to provide health and wellness sessions to our RI educators. These sessions have been extremely successful and we are now extending this opportunity to families and community members. We know that the current pandemic, and the need for social distancing, has created an immense amount of stress on all members of our community. To respond to this, we have partnered with Pure Edge who will be providing a self-care series every Monday & Wednesday for the next few weeks: Monday and Wednesday mornings at 9a.m., Monday afternoons at 4p.m., and Wednesday evenings at 7p.m.
This self-care series is meant to provide attendees with strategies that can be used to help with relaxation and stress reduction. These sessions are being provided at different times of the day—a morning session to help get your day started, a mid-day reset, and an evening wind down. The sessions are all held virtually on zoom and when you log on you’ll be able to see the presenter, but they will not be able to see you. Feel free to join these sessions from week to week. Sign on and participate right from your living room!
Student daily attendance will be verified by the classroom teacher based on engagement with assignments and digital platforms. Attendance in a distance learning environment may include:
Submission of an assignment/assessment online
Live presence on an assignment
Documentation of student participation in interactive tutorial or computer-assisted instruction
Email to a teacher that student is online or has initiated contact with the teacher to ask a question
Live posting by the student’s participation in an online study group that is assigned by the teacher
Recent edits in a Google Doc (timestamp)
Attendance in an online video meeting such as Google Meet Hangout
Attendance may be taken later in the day after educators have had the opportunity to monitor various channels for participation
ATTENDANCE may be taken the day after the academic day. For example, Monday’s attendance will be taken on Tuesday relative to the learner’s assignment/engagement footprint on Monday
SICK DAYS FOR STUDENTS- if your child is ill and truly unable to participate in a given day’s learning activities, please email the school secretary
