Governor Raimondo and Commissioner Infante-Green challenged all students in Rhode Island to read for at least 20-60 minutes every single day in the month of April. But now that April is over, why stop?
We encourage all all East Greenwich students to keep practicing the habit of reading.
Ask for permission or ask your parent to help post a picture of you and members of your family reading. Use the hashtags #RIReadsAtHome, #EGSDReads and #ReadTogether on Twitter (@RIDeptEd), Facebook and Instagram (@RIDeptEd).
Information about the Governor's Reading Challenge can be found at the RI Department of Education.
We encourage all families to take a break from the screen and to cuddle up on the couch, or on a blanket outside in the sun to read a new book aloud together, or find renewed interest in a family favorite.
