It's time to start working again!I hope you all had a good break.

From now on you will find a new English activity on Monday/ Tuesday and on Thursday/ Friday.
That means you will have two English lessons every week.

Tuesday/ Thursday

Today we will practise how to read a story in English.
First you will read a story about the little red hen. You may find some difficult words.

Difficult words:
pick the wheat =tarwe plukken
grind the wheat = het tarwe malen
sweep the floor = de vloer vegen
delicious = heerlijk
Did you find more difficult words? Write them down and bring them to school.

Now answer the following questions:

Who are the main characters in this story?
Which characters are not very helpful?
Does the story end well? Why do you think so?

Today we will learn about chickens.

Look at the picture and read the text. Can you name the body parts of a chicken? (adult = volwassen)

Now draw your own chicken and complete the following sentences:
This is is my chicken.
His/ her name is……
It is a ……. (chick/ hen/ rooster).
Finally, name the parts of your chicken. Use the following words: comb (kam), beak (snavel), wattle (lel), claw (klauw), wing (vleugel), tail feathers (staart veren).

If you want to, send your chicken to me so I can look at it for you.
