Fur Trade Activity

Your Task: Create a comic examining one of the social studies curriculum points from different perspectives.

Research Questions:

1. How did the First Nations, French, British and Métis peoples interact with each other as participants in the fur trade?
2. How did the fur trade contribute to the foundations of the economy in North America?
3. How was Britain’s interest in the fur trade different from that of New France?

Steps:

1. Decide if you want to work on your own or in partners. You will be assigned a topic by your teacher.
2. Complete the research guide - shared on google docs with you.
3. Create a comic that shows the perspectives of the different stakeholders involved in your question. You can hand-draw it, or use the computer program: Comic Life.
4. Complete your self-assessment - on the research guide. Highlight the grade you believe you have earned, print it off, and submit it to your teacher.
