We want students, teachers and families to be able to make the most of this wonderful learning platform. To maximise student learning through Seesaw, we have created some guidelines that will help us work together to ensure that Seesaw is always purposeful and manageable. As with all aspects of learning from home, we (students, teachers and families) will need to work together to make this happen. The following guidelines have been put together to help guide your use of the app.
Family logins will be emailed to families by the classroom teachers.
Use Seesaw to deliver videos and activities to guide students in their home learning
View and approve student uploads
Post feedback on some items by commenting or voice recording. Each student can expect a comment on at least 1 item per day
View and approve student and parent comments
Watch mini lesson videos
Complete all activities assigned each day by following instructions and trying your best
Only press the green ‘add’ button to upload work that the teacher has asked you to submit on Seesaw (these instructions will be in the lesson plan, if required)
Check ‘notifications’ to see teacher comments and feedback. Students may reply to their teacher by adding a comment and typing or recording their voice. app.seesaw.me/#/login
We also have an Official Facebook page, which can be located at https://www.facebook.com/TorquayCoastPrimarySchool/
We occasionally use this Facebook page to promote school community events, celebrate our student achievements and inform others outside of our school of key events.
The school also formally endorses and contributes to a TCPS family Facebook page, with members of this page including School Councillors and our Assistant Principal. This helps ensure that all information shared is factual, accurate and up to date.
You can access this page using the following link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/148707512526399/
Occasionally individuals set up their own pages using the names of organisations (like the names of schools) which can be highly misleading. Despite the fact that this can be done with good intent, information shared on these pages cannot be verified as being factual and are certainly not always formally endorsed by the organisation whose banner they are using.
If at any time you have a concern about any information that you find online, we encourage you to contact the school as soon as possible to seek clarification.
We would encourage all our parents to rely solely on the endorsed communication platforms of our school for all information.
TCPS has four pillars on which we base all our School Wide Positive Behaviours: Strength of Character, Resilience, Respect, and Mindfulness. We are currently working with our staff students to complete a School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix. One of the behaviours we promote within our children under the Resilience Pillar and within the Digital Citizenship Learning setting is: We can think critically about what we read online. Is this the truth? Is this kind? Is this necessary?
