General Parent Information
Parent Information Handbook
Our parent handbook outlines key information for you and your family prior to starting school. It is vital that you read through this document.
Student Charges
Commencing in 2022 Torquay Coast Primary School will provide all Curriculum Contribution for students. There will be no request payment towards these items. Please refer to the attached tables for further information. This was a complex decision and there are a number of contributing factors which has enabled our school to be able to offer this for our families.
Parents can pay on a ‘USER PAYS’ Basis for any Extra Curricular Excursions/Camps. These are an option for families to pay for if they wish their student to attend. These Extra-Curricular Items/Activities will be communicated to families next year through COMPASS outlining the costs per event. You will be able to consent online and pay via COMPASS PAY or BPAY.
CSEF - Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund
School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum.
CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.
If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance is paid directly to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.
The annual CSEF amount per student is $150 for primary school students. Application forms will be available from the office in December. More information is available at https://www.education.vic.gov.au/csef

Please note the following message from the Department of Education
Schools are reminded that the Department does not provide personal accident insurance for students.
Parents and guardians are responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including any transport costs.
Student accident insurance policies are available from some commercial insurers. These cover a range of medical expenses not covered by Medicare or private health insurance.
