2024/2025 Prep Transition Information
Prep Transition Information Video
Staff at TCPS have been busy preparing some resources and videos to help answer any questions you may have and to provide reassurance that we are happily preparing for a different, but fantastic transition program for our new Preps.
We have created a video full of information for families all about Prep. You will meet some of our TCPS staff and hear about the areas listed below:

What is transition
Prep interviews and the beginning of the year

PREP INTERVIEWS
Our Prep Interviews occur at the beginning of Term One. This ensures that we know as much about your child as possible before we commence learning as a Prep Community. This one on one time allows the teachers to engage with your child, have an opportunity to really get to know them, and have a sound understanding of where they are academically.
MEDICATION
PLEASE NOTE: If your child has a Medical condition such as Asthma, Anaphylaxis or an Allergy we ask that you pack their medication and action plan - please ensure that this medication is clearly named. All our staff are first aid trained, so if a student is injured or unwell they will be well looked after. All staff will be made aware of any students who have any additional needs prior to transition starting.
2024 Transition Social Story
We have created a social story to share with your children. This will show them what their transition day could look like and may also answer some of their questions.
We have been speaking to the kinder teachers to ensure that your child has a smooth start at school, and will use this information about friends and familiar faces to construct our home groups, and do all that we can to support each child.
We look forward to seeing you all very soon!
Prep Transition Dates 2024/2025
Prep Transition Days
Our Prep Transition Program consists of four transition visits during December and January, and ideally, we hope to see your child attend each of them. This will give us the best opportunity to get to know each child, their individual personalities and needs, and will help to assist us as they start their schooling journey. Of course, it will also give your child a chance to familiarize themselves more with our school and specifically, the Prep Learning Community. Each session lasts for 90 minutes and we gradually get children to be independent with the transition visits
