Definition: Place-value (tenths)- A tenth of these is 1 of those- 1 can be partitioned into 10 equal parts (tenths): tenths can be counted (0-9), ordered and compared in the same way as any other place-value unit (e.g., 5.3 is smaller than 5.7 as there are less tenths in 5.3)

Activity 2:
Record these numbers
A number with a 7 in the tenths, 8 in the hundreds, 6 in the ones and 5 in the tens.
A number which is all even and is 5 digits and the number in the tenths column is odd. (Think of 5 different answers)
A number which is 5 digits. The tenths numer is even, the tens of thousands is less than 7, the thousands is odd, the hundreds is less than 3, the tens is greater than 6 and the ones is odd. (Think of 5 different answers)
