School Hours For Preps

First Session: 9.00 - 11.00am

Recess: 11.00 - 11.30am

Second Session: 11.30 - 1.30pm

Lunch: 1.30 - 2.20pm

Third Session: 2.20 - 3.20pm

Please note: Due to the impact of COVID19 the senior year levels operate on a slightly different timetable to cater for staggered breaks.

We expect students to attend school for a full day. However, if a student needs to be signed out of school for an emergency dental or medical appointment, please avoid signing them out during their lunch break as the rooms are locked and bags cannot be collected.

If your child needs to be picked up early you must complete an "Early Removal from School" form which is available from the office, and sign your child out. Please allow at least 5-10 minutes to locate your child due to specialist timetable lesson adjustments, organized activities and the physical size of the school.

Office Hours

8.30 am - 4.00 pm every school day

The Office is open approximately one week prior to the commencement of the school year (i.e. during late January). We can be contacted on (03) 5282 1261.

Attendance

Regular attendance is important. Regular attendance helps school work, social adjustment and development of dependability.

Punctuality is important. The school day starts at 9:00am. Please ensure that your child arrives on time. We recommend students arrive between 8.45am and 8.58am as the yard is supervised from 8.45am and this allows them time to place their bag, visit the amenities and catch up with friends before the bell rings for line-up.

Parents are asked to qualify any child's absence (for half or full day) with a written explanation. Please do not ring the school to inform of absences unless your child has been away for 3 days without an explanation and needs to be away for longer. If your child has an illness that warrants exclusion from school (i.e. chickenpox, Diphtheria, Hand Foot & Mouth, School Sores, etc) please alert the office so that any necessary steps can be carried out.

School Reports and Interviews

Students' reports are issued twice yearly, in June and December. Parent-teacher interviews are held after the issue of the June Report. Discussion about individual student progress is done at this time. Parent information sessions are held during first term. This enables any concerns or requests for special consideration to be raised early enough for action to be taken.

If you wish to discuss your child's progress at any stage, a phone call to arrange a meeting at a mutually acceptable time with the teacher would be appreciated.

Homework

Teachers will from time to time set tasks for students to complete at home. These might be specific tasks in particular curriculum areas, or they might be research tasks set around the special topic being studied in the classroom. Teachers expect too that students complete reading practice on the majority of nights as well as spelling and tables practice.
