Learning Intentions:
To read and perform TAB notation
To be able to play basic melodies on ukulele
So far, we have looked at melodies that are notated using the treble or bass clef. Melodies can also be notated using other types of notation such as tablature.
Tablature is a form of notation for ukulele, guitar and bass guitar that tells the player which string to play and the fret on which to place their finger.
The tablature for each instrument differs due to the number of strings and the tuning of the strings. For this reason, ukulele, guitar and bass guitar tablature can only be played by the instrument for which it is written.
