(reposted from April 2020) Mrs Williams talks you about a strategy to try and keep calm. No equipment required. If you would like to take your time and read through the Google Slide on Calm Breathing , Click on the video below.
The easiest way to connect to your child's teacher is through ClassDojo. Teachers generally reply during school hours (for teachers this is 8:30ish to 3:30ish on school days). We appreciate hearing from our families especially when we can't see everyone face-to-face. If you think of an important question in the middle of the night feel free to message us through your child's class, all teachers have been encouraged to use 'Quiet Hours' so that outside of school hours the message will not be read until we log in or open up ClassDojo.

*** This program ran during Term 3, 2020 and was a great success. Thanks you to all of the families who participated. We now have many students who are happily seeing a much brighter future!***
We are pleased that we are able to offer access to the See Straight Comprehensive Eye Examination.
The ‘See Straight: At School’ program offers eye examinations to students and access to a range of glasses all during school hours.
Now more than ever, during this coronavirus pandemic, it’s important that students don’t miss out on having their vision, visual skills and information processing skills assessed. Particularly with the increase of screen time as a result of home learning. Students will be seen by an optometrist to assess their vision, internal eye health and prescription. Referrals to other health care professionals will also be provided where necessary.
Students then receive a FREE assessment (valued at $120) by an orthoptist (vision therapy specialist) to assess their eye posture, visual skills (such as eye teeming, focusing and tracking) and information processing skills.
If you would like your child to participate in the program, please access the permission form and complete the digital parent consent form on your child's ClassDojo.
Students who already wear glasses should take advantage of this program. It is important to have regular check ups to ensure that they have the correct prescription and that the visual and processing skills are being supported.
Please ask for Mrs Haeren in the office if you have any questions or need assistance in completing the consent form. You can also contact her through your child's ClassDojo
In this video Mrs Haeren and Mrs Williams discuss a strategy to help students with their organisational skills. Students that have difficulty knowing where to start or staying on task may find this useful. You might also like to try this with tasks at home.
