While we still need to stay home we can keep active. Remember you can leave your house to exercise with your family. Take a mask with you just in case you are around others. Here are some ideas to help you get active:
Pick activities and lesson that you can modify to suit your space and family. They are intended to be used in a weekly remote learning unit of work to have students "more active, more often", and to support schools in providing students with 150 minutes of physical activity each week as outlined in the Department of Education’s Sport and Physical Activity policy. They are not a sequential unit of work and can be completed in any order. Try to the best of your ability. The important thing is to get moving!
You don't have to leave home or wear a mask for these activities! You can download GoNoodle for FREE onto your device from the App Store or the Google Play store. Sometimes you need to get up and move or take a mindful moment. Let your class teacher know which GoNoodle activities you like to do at home! See if you can get your family members to join you.
You can stay active by helping around the house. Kids of all ages can help their families by doing chores around the house. Sorry kids. You're welcome, families!
There are many parks in our local area and a little further away. Have a look at these local council sites and discover a new park during the summer break. Here there are links to Liverpool Council, Campbelltown Council, Parramatta Council and Sydney Council Websites. At some parks you can take your pets or bikes and scooters (don't forget your helmets). Make sure you take plenty of water to drink and don't forget your sunscreen!
