If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed or emotional that's perfectly fine. It's a bit stressful at the moment. Everyone feels worried/stressed/anxious in their own way. With some people it is really obvious, with other people you can't always tell how they feel. It is important that everyone takes time to try and relax. Maybe you could try some of these suggestions to help you relax:
Sleep is important for growing bodies. Children need sleep to relax and recharge especially during times when they are stressed and anxious. Here is a list of approximate times that children should be sleeping per day.
Play School has an episode called Mindfully Me. The episode talked about strategies to keep calm during stressful times. Here is the link: https://iview.abc.net.au/show/play-school-mindfully-me
Help your child find the positive things in their life. Have everyone write down something that they are thankful for. Use an empty jar or container to collect everything that your children and you can be thankful for right now.
The Action for Happiness website has two calendars with great ideas to encourage keeping calm and happiness at home and from a distance in the community.
Anxiety, worries and stress can be overwhelming. By giving students some strategies to calm down we can help them learn to relax. Try some of these with your family.
