Term 4, Week 8, 2025
This past fortnight has seen possibly more learning activity happening outside the school gates than within them. Between excursions to Fighterworld and the RAAF base, and the Intensive Swim Scheme, we've spent a lot of time exploring places from one end of Port Stephens to the other.
Additionally, our inaugural International Men's Day event was a huge success, with many men, women, and children taking part in the celebrations. Whilst the breakfast gathering had a fun, light-hearted vibe to it, our underlying purpose was to ensure that all the men in our community know just how much we value them and to encourage them to take care of their own mental and physical wellbeing.
Whilst there aren't many school days left for this year, we certainly have a lot to fit into that short time. We're looking forward to joining the families at Oakvale Farm for the End-of-Year Picnic Day and to welcoming you all for Presentation Day, both in Week 9. We'll cap off that week with the Year 6 Farewell for Jackson, Max and their families in a special event for them and staff, on Friday night.
In other news, if you've visited our school lately, you may have noticed the considerable overhaul that's taken place in some areas of the playground. Mr Hodgson has been extremely busy weeding, repairing, mowing, pruning and carting, all to help make the area safer and useable for students and less hospitable for snakes. Thank you, Hodgy, for your continued hard work while Mr Menchin has been on leave.
We also farewelled our fabulous prac students on Friday; Miss Forbes and Mrs Honor. It was a great privilege to host them as part of their studies and we are grateful for the way they enthusiastically became part of the Bobs Farm community. We hope to see them back sometime soon when they've completed their degrees and become fully fledged teachers. We know they will be fantastic additions to the teaching profession.
Finally, a reminder to please complete the very short 3-question parent survey to provide necessary feedback on what you like about Bobs Farm PS and what suggestions you have for improvements.
