Term 2, Week 2, 2026
What a flying start to Term 2 we’ve had! As many of you know, Mrs Baxter is away for the first three weeks of this term, and I have been honoured to step in as acting principal during her absence. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful staff who have generously taken on additional roles and responsibilities, enabling me to focus fully on leading our school at this busy time.
We began the term with something very special — the children’s delighted smiles - as they walked into our brand new playground! Thanks to the incredible support of our P&C over the school holidays, our playground has been transformed. We now have a beautiful play area and new green turf that is already looking lush and inviting. How lucky we are to have such a dedicated and supportive P&C team! We’re looking forward to fully utilising this fantastic space by Week 3 once the turf has established itself.
There is so much happening this term. We held a moving ANZAC Day assembly, made all the more special by our two wonderful guests, Corporal Damien Smith and Kaylee Hodgson. Their heartfelt speeches were greatly appreciated by all.
Don’t forget—school photos are this Thursday! We can’t wait to capture everyone’s big, bright smiles.
Looking ahead, Week 3 brings our much-anticipated Athletics Carnival in Maitland, which is always a fun-filled day of fundamental movement skills and celebrating our students’ achievements.
Finally, mark your calendars for Monday, May 11th, when we will host our Mother’s Day and International Women’s Day combined celebration morning. We warmly invite all women connected to our school community — Mums, Nans, sisters, aunties, and carers — to join us for a morning of craft, games, bonding, and creating wonderful memories together.
Thank you all for your ongoing support. Here’s to a fantastic Term 2!
Alana Hodgson
A quick note just to thank all the parents who have checked in on our beloved GA, ‘Hodgy’. He has been discharged from hospital and is now recovering at home from surgery for a torn meniscus. He isn't making Mrs Hodgson feel like she gained a fourth child at all...
