We are incredibly grateful to the P&C for their enthusiastic support of the teachers idea for developing the new playground area, making it happen in such a short time! The playground design came from closely watching the students during lunch and recess to see what they enjoy and what their interests are. We also hired the students to be architects and design the playground of their dreams! Now, while we aren’t sure how we are going to make a huge flying fox as requested by a lot of students, we were able to make:

• a paving pit where students can tessellate the pavers and create their own patterns

• a digging pit where the students can dig and find hidden treasures

• a mud kitchen

• a cubby house

• a fairy garden

• a pond (ready for fish and frogs)

• fresh green grass

It has been wonderful to see the students' ideas come to life and the playground become a space designed just for them!
