Drama is a dynamic course set around a series of practical skills. It is essentially skills-based, focusing on developing student creativity, self-expression and confidence in a supportive and engaging environment. A wide range of dramatic skills are explored including movement, voice, improvisation, playbuilding, costume, set design and performance appreciation. Students will be required to work individually and in groups. Prior knowledge and skills are not essential, however, participation is a must! The course requires students to engage with practical work which will be supplemented with relevant theory tasks.

This course is for students who are enthusiastic about music. It is an extension of the Year 7 and Year 8 course and provides a basis for studying music in the Higher School Certificate.
Three main components of this course are performance, listening and composition. Skills in these areas are developed in conjunction with the study of a wide range of styles including Australian Music, Rock Music, Jazz, Music in Technology, Musicals, and Classical Music. Set tasks will enable the student to discover the vital musical characteristics of each style and apply them to their own performance and composition activities.

This is an creative and challenging course in which you will learn about black and white photography and digital forms. You will learn how to use a camera, print photographs, manipulate images using Photoshop and undertake critical and historical activities. The course develops your design skills and allows for creative approaches using a range of technology.

Provide a pathway to study in Stage 6 courses including Visual Arts and Visual Design

Visual Arts is a comprehensive and rigorous program that provides a solid grounding in two and three-dimensional forms. You will learn about artists, their world and their work and develop your own ability to work as an artist. While drawing is a compulsory component of this course, it also builds your skills in the use of a variety of forms including painting, printmaking, sculpture and digital media (including photography).
