Session 3

NATIVE POLLINATORS

Native Pollinators

Session Summary

We will learn about our very special Australian native bees and why they are vital for the survival of our native plant species. Students will observe a native bee-hive and look at the features of a variety of native bees including variations of colour, behaviour and body size. Students will create a botanical drawing of a native bee.

We will learn how to identify a variety of invertebrates and search for some invertebrates in our local spaces. We will record evidence of biodiversity and capture photos and or artwork of the biodiversity we encountered on our invertebrate hunt.

After the session students can share their nature photographs and art with us, and we will share them in our online gallery. We will include a button here and on our gallery page after each session to share.
