what is network topology?

Network topology is the description of how nodes of a system are connected, the physical layout of the cables and computers in a network. Physical topology is how the network devices are connected physically. Logical topology describes the flow of data within a system.

There are different ways computers in a network can be connected so that they can communicate to each other, the most common topologies are: bus, ring, and star.
